It’s Time to State Your Position on the Light Rail Project

Triangle Transit held public meetings last week on the Light Rail Project. This project will affect the traffic flow along Highway 54. Other neighborhoods have successfully come together in opposition to the location of the tracks. It’s time for Downing Creek residents to make your position known. The Board has sent letters opposing Route C2 Alternative which puts tracks at our main entrance to 54 with trains running every 10 – 15 minutes during prime commuting times. Route C1 is no longer an option as the US Army Corps of Engineers did not grant access given the availability of other options.

Please go to http://ourtransitfuture.com and click on Projects then on the Durham Orange Corridor. Look at the map and read the info, then go back to the main site and take the survey. Note, Route C1A Alternative would keep the tracks away from our entrances. The latest presentation can be viewed at http://ourtransitfuture.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/March-Info-Sessio... .

The more our voices are heard, the better our chances of keeping the tracks away from our entrance. Please help and encourage your neighbors to do so. Thanks!
